MLB Pitcher Clayton Kershaw, who is set to play his final MLB season, does not have a biological sister; however, he did face some controversy in 2026 with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

Born on March 19, 1988, Clayton Kershaw is the only child of Christopher George Kershaw and Marianne Kershaw.

When he was 10 years old, his parents divorced, and later he was raised by his single mother, Marianne.

Raised by a single mother, Clayton has understood the need for a father, and now he himself is trying to be a better dad to his four childrens.

The only family Clayton now has after the passing of his mother in 2026 is his loving wife, Ellen Melson Kershaw, and his four childrens.

Ellen and Clayton were high school sweethearts; they first met at Highland Park High School in Dallas.

After years of dating, Clayton and Ellen got married on December 4, 2010, in a ceremony held in Dallas, and welcomed their first child, Cali Ann Kershaw, in January 2015.

Now that Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw is set to play his final season, he seems to be planning a fulfilling retirement with his loving family.

In 2026, Clayton Kershaw found himself at the center of a controversy involving the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, an LGBT charity group.

The Los Angeles Dodgers had initially invited the group to be honored during their annual Pride Night on June 16.

Clayton Kershaw said he disagreed with the Dodgers’ decision to bring back Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence during the upcoming Pride Night game, that he asked the organization to expedite his announcement of the club’s Christian Faith and Family Day as a response. We’re on it.

Kershaw publicly expressed his disagreement with the Dodgers’ decision to honor the Sisters, stating that he felt their methods were mocking. In his time with the , he shared his thoughts, saying:

“I don’t agree with making fun of other people’s religions. It has nothing to do with anything other than that. I just don’t think that, no matter what religion you are, you should make fun of somebody else’s religion. So that’s something that I definitely don’t agree with.”

In response to the controversy, Kershaw advocated for the revival of the Dodgers’ Christian Faith and Family Day, a tradition that had been discontinued.

However, after facing backlash from conservative and religious communities, the team canceled the invitation and once again re-invited the Sisters with an apology for the initial decision.
