Gerard Parker, aka Black Bear, one of the most beloved members of the 1993 Metro Bull DC team in Washington, DC, has passed away, leaving the Bears community in mourning.

Parker was one of the best players of the Metro Bulls (Washington, D.C.) during the early 1990s.

While not many details about Gerard Parker have been disclosed in the media, his death has indeed caused a wave of grief in the D.C. community.

Recently, Theophus Brooks, a head coach in the D.C. community sports scene, shared a post confirming the passing of Gerard Parker.

Parker was one of the kindest souls in the D.C. community. While he was alive, he donated his time and efforts to multiple community services.

He was also a dedicated member and fundraiser for cancer victims. In September 2026, he organized a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, collecting funds to support those affected.
