Born on May 6, 2004, in Fort Worth, Texas, Riley’s time on earth ended much too soon; nevertheless, he touched people, and the pride he took in his work will stick with everyone for a very long time.

Riley played varsity baseball at Lipan High School, wearing number 15 as part of the class of 2026.

Jake Lindberg, one of his friends, wrote a tribute post reminiscing about their good old times. He wrote:

Rest easy Riley, its hard to believe your gone looking back in all our funny memories i miss you so much man sending prayers to your family

He was the kind of guy who felt right at home outdoors. Riley loved hunting, fishing, and hiking whenever he could, and he had this special talent for spotting arrowheads.

Over the years, he put together quite a collection that he was really proud of.

Back when he turned 16, his family gave him his first welder, and right away, he started picking up small jobs around Lipan.

Riley never cared much about being the center of attention, but he had a natural gift for whatever he decided to do with his hands.

Through high school, he spent summers learning the trade, welding pipe and putting up custom fences, gates, and barns.

After he graduated from Lipan High School in 2026, he didn’t waste any time. He packed up and went to Carlsbad, New Mexico, to start welding on pipelines.

About a year after that, Riley returned to Texas and continued welding on the pipeline.

A celebration of his life is planned for December 31, 2026, at 1:00 in the afternoon at the Lipan Cowboy Church.

The family has asked that, instead of sending flowers, people might consider giving to the Riley Grove Memorial Scholarship through the First National Bank of Lipan.

That fund will help a Lipan High School graduate who wants to follow a path in welding, keeping Riley’s passion going for someone else.

During this challenging time, we pray for the strength of Riley’s parents, siblings, friends, and extended family.

Rest In Heavenly Peace, Riley Grove!
