Baseball Coach Dylan Watson, 24, Passed Away in a Car Accident, Leaving Wife and Son Shattered!

Dylan Jacob Watson, affectionately known as Dill Pickle or D-Wat, passed away in a car accident on September 17, 2026, at the age of 24.

Dylan leaves behind his wife, Abigail McArthur, and his son, Parker Watson.

He was a family man and, above all, he was proud to be Parker’s father. His son, Parker, was born on November 7, 2026.

Of all his successes, being a father stood out to him the most. Filled with happiness, Dylan had shared pictures of his newborn in 2026, writing:

Can’t believe my little man is already a week old! Time please slow down! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you Parker Dwayne! Daddy loves you so so much!🩵

Likewise, he leaves behind his parents, Rob and Tanya Watson, and his three siblings: brother Johnathan Watson and his wife, Kerigan; brother Ethan Watson; and sister Nicole and her husband, Tyler Russell.

Dylan considered Malik Brazil, who is with Rachael Blanton, Ta’Vious Brazil, Tramell Coleman, and Randy Lock as honorary brothers; all live in Boonville.

Likewise, other survivors include his grandmother, Mary Flaherty; aunts Robin Flaherty and Dawn Hilderbrand; his uncle, Jeremy Flaherty, and his wife, Bobbi; and his “bonus mom,” Melanie Brazil, whom he affectionately called Momma B.

Not to forget, Dylan was also a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews: Bentley Watson, Peyton Crossno, Emree Watson, Haven Watson, Lakelynn, Lylah, and Lorelai McArthur.

His dog, Maximus Cyrillas Watson, was part of his family, too.

Dylan was preceded in passing by his grandparents, Daniel Flaherty, Viola Sue, and Robert Dwayne Watson; his uncle, David Lee Watson; and his aunt, Diana Lynn Jones.

Born on February 24, 2001, Dylan was the middle son of Robert D. Watson II and Tanya Watson.

He finished high school at Boonville High School in 2019 and subsequently earned an associate’s degree from State Fair Community College.

Dylan also spent one year at the University of Arkansas. At the time of his passing, he was in his third year as a plumbing apprentice at QuesTec Mechanical.

Above all, baseball meant everything to Dylan. He started playing at the age of five, and it remained a significant part of his world until his early twenties.

People in Boonville often called him the greatest catcher the high school had ever seen. His honors included being named to the First Team All-State three times.

Dylan helped his team reach two state tournaments. He also played on travel teams, going to several regional events and two Babe Ruth Little League World Series.

Later, from his playing career, Dylan transitioned into a coaching and mentoring role.

In his free time away from the field or his job, Dylan played video games. He listened to a wide range of music, including artists like Adele, Lil Wayne, and Morgan Wallen.

A gathering to celebrate Dylan’s life is planned for Friday, September 26, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. It will take place at Harley Park in Boonville, just behind home plate on the field he loved so much.

Those attending are asked to wear clothing from the Boonville Pirates team and to share a special memory about Dylan.

During this difficult time, we pray for the strength of Dylan’s wife, son, parents, friends, and extended family.
