Both of University of Utah Athletics Wide Receiver Salesi Moa’s Brothers Are Involved in College Football

Wide receiver Salesi Moa’s brothers, Aisea Moa and Sione Moa, are carving out their own paths in college athletics.

Let alone, the Moa brothers, but their father, Ben Moa, was also athletic. In fact, he set the tone for the family by playing tight end at Utah and even trying his hand in the NFL and MMA.

Aisea Moa, one of his older siblings, started his linebacker career at Brigham Young University before transferring to Michigan State, where he played as a redshirt junior and recently entered the transfer portal amid buzz about potential moves.

Aisea’s journey included earning four-star recruit status out of high school, racking up tackles and sacks at Weber High, and seeing limited action at BYU before finding more opportunities at Michigan State.

He preserved a redshirt year early on and contributed in games like the New Mexico Bowl, showing his relentless style on defense.

, meanwhile, began at Utah State, moved to BYU for a couple of seasons, and now suits up for UConn as a linebacker after his latest transfer.

Sione redshirted at Utah State, appeared in multiple games there, and then transferred to BYU where he played alongside Aisea for a time, before heading to UConn to continue building his resume.

The Moa Brothers Have Been Vocal About Their Close Bond!

In various interviews and media spots, the brothers have referenced each other, which speaks volumes about their love and bond.

For instance, in an article from the Salt Lake Tribune about why Salesi initially chose Tennessee over Utah, it was noted that Sione and Aisea helped him decide using a points system:

Salesi himself discussed his family influence in a YouTube interview titled “Salesi Moa talks about what led him to Tennessee in spurning hometown Utes and more,” where he explained the role his brothers played in his choices.

Their father, Ben Moa, spoke on a podcast episode of “The Bill Riley Show” about Salesi’s flip to Utah, saying:

The Utah football legend on this son Salesi flipping his commitment to Utah from Tennessee. Could Salesi play both ways for the Utes.
