Two Cal State Fullerton students and women’s soccer players are hospitalized in critical condition after a serious traffic collision on Thursday, September 27.

Lauren Turner and Ashlyn Gwynn, both 19, were riding electric scooters southbound on Associated Road when they were struck by a white Ford box truck at the intersection of Yorba Linda Boulevard.

The cause of the accident, which occurred at around 7:00 p.m., is still under review.

Lauren and Ashlyn were transported to a local trauma center by the Fullerton Fire Department. In an update from her family, Lauren is in the ICU battling severe head trauma.

The families of both victims have created GoFundMe campaigns, in conjunction with CSUF Athletics, to help cover medical expenses and ongoing care.

In a fundraising message, the Turner family described Lauren as a beautiful, bright, strong, and determined young woman, and asked for prayers and support during this difficult time.
