A beloved coach, father, and grandfather, Randy Scott Deese, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2026, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital at the age of 65.
Randy Scott Deese is survived by his wife of 35 years, Stephanie Holley Deese, and their daughters, Whitney Nicole Deese and her husband, Richard Wainwright; McKayla Shea Deese; and Monica Renee Fender.
The respected coach, Randy, and his wife, Stephanie, were married for 35 years before his passing. They tied the knot on April 7, 1990.

This one definitely hit hard for us and everyone around. God I know you make no mistakes but I am a human and feel very confused. I am very thankful for the time I did have with him and the love he shared with everyone. God, just guide us through this time of need.
He was a beloved grandfather to his grandchildren, Dylan Scott Flowers and Landon James Flowers, who held a special place in his heart.

Whereas Randy is preceded in passing by his parents, George Leonidas Deese and Lorraine Boucher Deese, his son, Dylan Scott, and his brothers, John Deese and Christopher Deese.
was born on August 28, 1960, in Albany, Georgia; however, he spent 25 years living in Florida before returning to his hometown 14 years ago.
Randy was a man of many passions and talents. He was a dedicated Little League football coach and earned the affectionate nickname “Pops” from the young athletes he mentored on the Wolverines team.
A proud supporter of the University of Georgia, Randy was an avid fan of the Bulldogs.
A man of many talents, Randy also served as a volunteer firefighter in Mulberry, Florida, and had a lesser-known passion for racecar driving.
He was a social butterfly loved by everyone and was often called “Haystack” by family and “Fatdaddy” by friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 26, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home, with a reception for family and friends following.
The Deese family has invited friends and loved ones to join them at Mathews Funeral Home to celebrate his life.
During this difficult time, we pray for the strength of Deese’s wife, daughters, grandkids, friends, and extended family.
