Cyclist Mackenzie Mason tragically passed away following an accident on Sunday, September 14, 2026, leaving her family and community heartbroken.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m., a Toyota Land Cruiser with Ms. Mason at the intersection of Wills and Sterling Streets.
At just 21 years old, Mackenzie’s life was abruptly cut short, leaving a profound void in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Following her passing, Monivae College shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook:

Mackenzie Mason Shared a Close Bond with Her Parents and Siblings
Mackenzie Mason was born in 2004 to her loving parents, Tim and Sophia Mason.
From a young age, she was surrounded by a caring family, growing up alongside her three siblings: her sister, Morgan, and brothers, and .
The siblings shared a strong bond, always supporting one another through life’s joys and challenges.
On her 21st birthday, Mackenzie’s mother, Sophia, shared a heartfelt photo of her daughter on Facebook.
Sophia, who as a Support Coordinator at Southern Stay Disability Services Inc., has always been deeply involved in her family’s life and well-being.
Originally from Adelaide, she and her family were residing in Hamilton, Victoria, where they built cherished memories together.
Her father, Tim, while active on , has maintained a private professional life, and little is publicly known about his career.
Morgan, Mackenzie’s sister, at the Western District Health Service and has been dedicated to her role since January 16, 2019.
She, like Mackenzie, is an alumna of Monivae College, and her connection with her siblings has always been close-knit.
The Mason family, known for their warmth and strong family values, is now facing the devastating loss of their beloved Mackenzie.
