The football community of Drakenstein is reeling from the tragic news of Sinoxolo “Jazz” Qashani’s death, a beloved player, captain, and role model who passed away on Tuesday night.

Qashani, the captain of the Mbekweni Sundowns Ladies Team, was widely admired for her leadership on the field and her dedication to the development of women’s football.

The Drakenstein Local Football Moments page confirmed her passing and expressed deep sorrow, noting the immense void her death leaves in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.

Her club, Mbekweni Sundowns FC, also paid tribute, highlighting Qashani’s instrumental role in guiding the team from the SAFA CW Women’s Regional League to the SAFA Western Cape Provincial League (Sasol) in the 2026/23 season.
