NJ Resident, Former Camden High School Football Player Ray Vaughn Covington Jr Passed Away, Leaving Family Devastated!

Originally from Camden, New Jersey, Ray Vaughn Covington Jr, took his last breath on December 15, 2026.

Thus far, the precise details about his passing remain concealed as the family is grieving in private.

Ray Vaughn Covington Jr is survived by his daughter, Briah Covington, younger brother, Christian Covington, sister Deborah Bailey, niece Erica Covington, and extended family members.

Briah, his beloved daughter, wrote a brief, heartbreaking tribute post for him, addressing him as her best friend. She wrote:

yall know i don’t do this facebook stuff, i just wanted to come on here and say rest in peace to my best friend🕊️ my dad was the greatest to ever do it yo… i’m so hurt rn💔Rayvaughn Covington

Christian Covington, his brother, also expressed his grief, writing:

Still in disbelief you were always in my corner my big brother I will always love you and keep you in my heart my brother until we meet again 💔😢

The Covington family organized a balloon release event for Ray Vaughn Covington Jr. at his mother’s house on December 20, 2026.

When I tell you how the memories and good times and fun that floods your mind when someone passes away just fills you up. Life really is too short. The walks home after football practice were epic. Ray introduced us to the Carribean on Haddon Avenue…the famous cheese fries. That was our routine, practice and fries with Javier Gonzalez.

“We feel like we never get a last chance to say something when life ends, but this love even unsaid was definately felt! 💔RIP RAY💔 MY QB, MY BRO, MY FRIEND 🙏🏾🕊 My Prayer’s of comfort go out to the family and friends,” Michael added.

A proud 1994 graduate of Camden High School, Ray was a football lover.

Whereas, a Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, December 27, 2026, on 11:00 am, at Calvary Bible Tabernacle, 47 N 23rd Street, Camden, NJ 08105.
