Amanda Nicole Moore, a paraprofessional in the Special Education Department at Richter Elementary, passed away at 35 on September 20, 2026.
She was an active student-athlete at Dayton High School, who participated in both volleyball and basketball.

After graduating from high school, her creative side blossomed during her time as a florist. However, she served as a security guard for Exxon, gaining valuable experience before discovering her true professional calling.
She served as a paraprofessional in the Special Education Department at Richter Elementary for five years. Her kind heart and patient spirit found a perfect home at the elementary.
She was deeply devoted to her students, whom she lovingly referred to as her babies, and her commitment had a profound impact on countless young lives.
Her journey reflects a path of service, creativity, and profound care for her community.
Amanda Nicole Moore’s Family Mourns the Tragic Loss
Amanda Nicole Moore, the daughter of James Sweeney and Myrna Herrick, was born on August 15, 1990, in Houston, Texas.
She grew up with her two siblings, Lyle Sweeney and Rebecca Stone, in Cleveland.
Amanda Nicole Moore was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, whose warmth and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her.
Her life was a quiet strength that comes from devotion, and her most significant role was that of a dedicated family woman.
She shared 17 years with her loving husband, Robert Moore, 15 of which were as his wife. Robert lovingly described their bond as his blessing, and together they had built a life centered on love and mutual support.
Her greatest joy came from being a mother to her two sons, Tristen and Lane. She was the biggest fan of their children, constantly cheering on the sidelines.
She proudly embraced the title of sports mom, and her family was the cornerstone of her world.
Amanda’s mother, Myrna Herrick King; grandparents, Mallie “Honey” Herrick and Floyd “Pooh” Herrick; and Herb and Lillie Mortensen.
On the other hand, her legacy of love continues through her devoted husband, Robert Moore; her cherished sons, Tristen and Lane; her father, James Sweeney; her stepmother, Trish Sweeney; her brother, Lyle Sweeney and his fiancée, Katheryn Soles; and her sister, Rebecca Stone.
Similarly, she shared a close bond with her special aunts and uncles, Regina and Ray Laboeuf, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever feel her absence.
Furthermore, Amanda’s warmth, strength, and compassionate spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The Moore family will hold a visitation for family and friends on Tuesday, September 23, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., also at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.
