North Carolina mourns a former high school and university baseball player turned coach, Tyler Moody, who passed away on January 10, 2026.

Tyler Moody is survived by his wife of 9 years, Taylor Moody, and their two daughters.

He walked down the aisle with Taylor, a personal trainer and group fitness instructor at Triangle Fitness in North Carolina, on October 15, 2016.

They had been dating since atleast 2010, before getting engaged in August 2015.

A married couple of almost a decade, Tyler and Taylor had two beautiful daughters.

Following his untimely demise, Taylor shared a brief tribute post, writing:

I will keep your memory alive in our girls, my greatest love ❤️

Meanwhile, a campaign has been created to help Taylor and their girls with the financial burden during this tough time.

Tyler Moody grew up in Front Royal, Virginia, where he played varsity baseball all four years at Warren County High School and started every game as a solid pitcher and first baseman.

After graduating with a strong GPA in 2012, he headed to Messiah University to keep playing at the NCAA Division III level.

He joined the Falcons as a pitcher and stuck around for the full four years from 2013 through 2016.

Tyler’s career ERA sat around 6.63 across roughly 57 innings pitched, with some good outings mixed in where he kept runners off base or helped close things out.

After wrapping up at Messiah, he didn’t chase pro ball and delved into corporate world. He worked as a finacial representative at Northwestern Mutual for quite a while.

However, later he again engaged himself in sports, moving into coaching for a bit.

Tyler served as a head baseball coach at Shalom Christian Academy in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, for almost 2 years right after college.

At the time of his demise, Tyler had been working at Amazon for almost a decade in several designations.

So far, his family hasn’t published details regarding Tyler’s funeral and memorial services.

During this challenging time, we pray for the strength of Tyler’s wife, kids, colleagues, friends, and extended family.

Rest In Heavenly Peace, Tyler Moody!
