Lucas Edward Fryc, 20, of Bordentown, New Jersey, died by suicide on 20th September 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, achievement, and devotion to his family and friends.
Born on April 24, 2005, in Bordentown, spent his entire life in his hometown and was a proud graduate of Bordentown Regional High School in 2026.
A four-year varsity soccer player and clarinetist in the school band, Lucas shined both on and off the field.
He was a two-time First Team BCSL All-Patriot League selection, named BCSL Patriot League Defender of the Year, and earned Second Team All-State South honors.
He also played in the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Senior All-Star Game and competed at the club level with MatchFit Academy.
Lucas Was A Dedicated Student And Passionate Scientist At Rowan University
After high school, Lucas attended Rowan University, where he majored in chemistry.
Known for his deep passion for science, he loved working in the lab and sharing his enthusiasm for chemistry with others.
His dedication to leadership and service earned him the 2026 RCSJ President’s Award for Leadership and Service as well as the President’s Award for Excellence in Chemistry.
On the field, Lucas captained the RCSJ Soccer Team in 2026 and 2026, leading them to the NJCAA national finals in 2026.
Nonetheless, Lucas lit up every room with his smile and always had a kind word for those around him.
He loved surfing with his brother Ryan, fishing with his dad and Mary, and staying active through exercise, fitness, and sports.
An accomplished athlete, curious learner, and generous soul, Lucas made others feel valued and appreciated wherever he went.
Lucas Was A Beloved Son, Brother, And Family Member Who Lived A Life Full of Joy, Adventure, and Connection
Lucas is survived by his loving parents, Edward Fryc and his partner Mary Tantillo, and Jenna Reichert Fryc; his brother, Ryan Fryc; and his grandparents, Irene Wojtczuk, Donna and John Winzinger, and Craig Reichert.
He is also survived by his great-grandmother, Helen Steen; his aunts and uncles, Tom and Lori Fryc, John and Rachel Fryc, Jen and Shaun Cooney, and Brian and Anne Reichert.
Lucas will be deeply missed by many other cherished family members and close friends who loved him dearly.
Memorial contributions in Lucas’s name may be made to The Lucas Edward Fryc Scholarship Fund or a charity of your choice, with donations accepted via Zelle or by mail to Citizens Bank in Bordentown.
Moreover, a mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2026, at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, with a visitation on September 26 and the morning of September 27 at the Bordentown Home for Funerals.
Burial will follow at Crosswicks Cemetery in Hamilton Township.
Lucas Edward Fryc’s passing is a profound loss to the Bordentown community.
As an accomplished student-athlete, a loving son and brother, and a generous friend, his impact will never be forgotten.
His achievements, kindness, and dedication to others will continue to inspire all who knew him.
