Grafton High Mourns the Heartbreaking Loss of Ulysses ‘Junior,’ A Beloved Football Player Remembered by His Mother, Lulu Nicole!

Grafton High School football player, Ulysses, better known as “Junior,” passed away untimely on September 17, 2026.

He was part of the school’s football team, wearing the number 24 jersey with pride.

Amid the ordeal, the family has asked for privacy and has not shared details about what happened or Junior’s full name.

Junior is survived by his mother, Lulu Nicole, and two brothers.

A local resident, Nikki Green, shared a heartfelt message in the Yorktown 411 public Facebook group, asking the community to come together in support.

She described Junior as a kind young man who helped her at the final football banquet with care and love. The news has been especially hard for his schoolmates, including Nikki’s own sons, who are struggling to cope.

Nikki has urged people to respect his family’s request to not mention his full name and give them privacy during this difficult time.

Junior’s mother has permitted a to be created to help with expenses.

The fundraiser, organized by Nakeya Green and Tasciana Lundy, aims to support Junior’s mom, who recently moved into a new home.

Tiffani Applewhite, who is Junior’s mother’s closest friend from childhood, shared a message on her Facebook, writing:

Please keep my childhood bff and her family in prayer. Lulu Nicole my forever friend.. I love you!!🙏🏾🙏🏾 🕊️ Rest Peacefully Junior!

LaQuint Brooks, the brother of Junior’s mother, wrote:

asking everyone to please send up a pray for my Sis Lulu Nicole and her family!! I Love you Girl we are praying for you .. Just a phone call away 🙏🏾💔

Lulu Nicole commented, “😭😭 thank you so much bro💓 every prayer is so needed and truly appreciated.”

Thus far, details surrounding his funeral services haven’t been published by his family. During this ordeal, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his mother, brothers, and extended family.
