Frustration erupted among parents and players at a recent Hillsboro High School football game after a referee failed to penalize an alarming incident on the field.

A player was visibly grabbed by the neck, yet no flag was thrown, sparking outrage from the crowd and the player’s family.

Jamie Fairo, mother of the affected player, shared a video of the play on Facebook, expressing her anger at the missed call. She wrote,

“After all them flags y’all was calling on us and every play y’all watched y’all managed to MISS THIS PLAY 🤬 Got my damn baby by the neck smh Oh Cheating A* Referees 🖕🏽.”*

The post quickly drew attention from other parents and spectators.

Deedee Thomas commented, Girl I just Malachi and u can see all the bs they was doing, to which Fairo responded, shit sad man.

Dexter Watson simply wrote, flag, highlighting the consensus that a penalty was warranted. Fairo agreed, replying, And they definitely didn’t call it smh.

Other commenters shared their frustration with the officiating. Ladarion Williams stated, Fr they definitely cheated, and Fairo added, cheated the whole league smh.

StreetMoney Sanchez of Florida Elite Football and Cheer chimed in, prompting Fairo to say, Yes they really need to look into Hillsboro Hawks Referees Because They Cheated BAD …

Ali Ganache captured the sentiment of many fans, writing, Fr!!! I was like, wtf!!! 🤬”

The video has sparked calls for a formal review of Hillsboro High School’s refereeing, with parents demanding accountability and fairness in future games.

The incident has reignited conversations about referee oversight in high school sports and the importance of protecting young athletes on the field.
