On September 12, tragedy struck when Hayden Staten lost his life in a motorcycle accident, leaving behind a grieving family, devastated friends, and a heartbroken community.

The accident claimed the life of a young man who was not only a talented athlete but also a kind, faithful, and deeply loved individual.

For those closest to him, Hayden’s passing feels unreal. Tracey Keel Sundin, who watched Hayden and her son Lucas grow up as inseparable best friends, expressed her grief with raw honesty.

“September 12th will be forever a date I hate,” she wrote, recalling how Lucas lost his very best friend in Hayden.

The academy issued an official statement expressing their sorrow, cancelling training sessions, and announcing moments of silence at upcoming matches.

Hayden also left his mark at Bartlett High School, where he helped lead the soccer program to unprecedented success.

Tony McManus, a longtime figure in the Memphis soccer community, recalled Hayden’s impact both on and off the field.

McManus highlighted Hayden’s role in guiding Bartlett to the state finals and their four most successful seasons.

Beyond his achievements, Hayden’s warm personality—always ready with a smile and a friendly greeting—made him unforgettable.
