Keota Football Player Suspended for Bullying; Mother Says All He Did Was Tell a Kid to Apologize

A dispute at Keota Schools over a bullying incident has sparked controversy after a football player’s mother claimed the punishment far outweighed her son’s actions.

The situation began when members of the football team were reportedly goofing off, mouthing, joking, and playing around.

According to Samantha Logan’s Facebook post, her son, Diesel, became involved when another student made a rude comment to one of his friends.

She states that Diesel’s only action was to tell the other student to “go apologize.”

After the student apologized, Diesel’s involvement ended. However, the incident escalated further, leading to a school investigation.

As a result, Diesel was suspended for four days, and his suspension carried significant consequences for his senior year.

He was barred from football practice and a Friday game, could not attend his girlfriend’s senior night, removed from his position as an FFA officer, and prohibited from attending overnight trips, such as the state convention.

Logan expressed frustration with the severity of the punishment.

She concedes her son was wrong for intervening and states “,” but questions the penalty.

Moreover, she revealed that Diesel was threatened with serious charges, including sexual assault and harassment, and has not yet been able to apologize because he is still suspended.

The case has raised questions about school disciplinary policies and the line between peer conflict and bullying.

Keota School District has not publicly commented on the specific details of the incident or the disciplinary measures taken.
