A graduate of Loyalsock, Class of 2014, a talented athlete, and a natural leader on the field, Saabir Gibson passed away in January 2026.
His friend was first asking everyone to pray for Saabir’s recovery, but later had to share the tragic news that Saabir had died.
At first, the friend was pleading for prayers while Saabir was still alive, but in critical condition, saying:
YALL HELP ME PRAY FOR MY BROTHA! He’s fighting for his life rn and he needs all the prayers he can get 🙏🏾😮💨 Saabir Gibson you got this my boy! KEEP FIGHTING 💙✊🏽
Then, he updated his post saying:
He didn’t make it, Damn my boy I’m gone miss you😪this shit don’t even feel real Bir” this means ?

, a proud member of the Class of 2014, was known both as a player and a “coach” on the field.
Originally from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, his senior year was marked by great experiences, and he quickly became the kind of teammate who allowed coaches to relax when he was in the game.
A true team player, Saabir earned the nickname “Clamp Daddy” for his defensive skills and his ability to lift those around him.
A graduate of Loyalsock, Saabir was remembered by his former head coach as a standout football player and an overall great person.
After his career in Loyalsock, Saabir pursued studies in Entrepreneurship at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and later built his professional path as a Career Consultant at Medical Solutions.
At the time of his passing, he was living in Tampa, Florida.
He was the kind of young man who made an impact simply by being himself, humble, respectful, and encouraging.
His sudden passing has left the community heartbroken, and he will be missed tremendously.
Friends, teammates, and mentors alike have spoken of his kindness and the way he inspired others both on and off the field.
One friend shared how Saabir’s style of play still influences him today, remembering how he had to bring his best to every practice.
Others spoke of his loyalty and friendship, especially during his time in Pittsburgh, where he and close friends looked out for one another.
His family, including his brother Ki and sister Iyuana, is grieving deeply, and his mother described announcing his passing, saying:
I’m finally ready to make a formal announcement of the passing of my beloved baby boy Saabir Gibson. Everyone please give me time to respond to all calls, text messages and DM. This is the most difficult assignment in my life!!! Thanks everyone and keep our family in prayers, especially his brother Ki & sister Iyuana Gibson.
Likewise, a close friend expressed the heartbreak of his final moments:

A GoFundMe has been established in his memory to help support his family during this difficult time.
In response to this tragedy, Michael Pastore organized a GoFundMe campaign “” to support Saabir’s family during this difficult time.
On the other hand, a Celebration of Life for Saabir Gibson will be held on January 24th at Love Unlimited Ministries, 734 West 4th Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
Viewing will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, followed by a service at 12:00 p.m.
