New Mark Middle School Faces Heartbreak After Suicide of Football Player Luke Ball, Game Delayed in Response

Lucas ‘Luke’ Ball, a Kansas City, Missouri resident and middle school student-athlete, passed away this week at an untimely age, leaving his family and loved ones devastated.

While his family hasn’t released any official statement regarding the untimely death of Luke Ball, as they are currently grieving the loss, according to some reports, he died by suicide.

One of the Kansas City residents and the mother of a student-athlete at New Mark Middle School took to her social media to confirm the passing of Luke Ball.

She further added that her son’s game had been rescheduled for this week.

The post reads:

“When he came home he told me about a student who took his life. I couldn’t imagine what his parents and his peers are going through. Prayers for New Mark Middle School.”

Furthermore, the untimely death of Luke Ball has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and loved ones.

Many of his loved ones are paying tribute to the late Luke Ball and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

The Late Luke Ball Was a Middle School Football Star

Lucas ‘Luke’ Ball touched the lives of many with his amazing athletic skills and his kind and cheerful nature.

He began his at a very young age and played football for the boys’ team at New Mark Middle School.

Luke Ball, a middle school linebacker (MLB) who wore jersey number 35 for New Mark Middle School in Kansas City, Missouri, and was a member of the Class of 2030, had shown remarkable promise as a young athlete.

Since joining the team in 2026, he quickly established himself as a dedicated and hardworking player, known for his agility, strength, and understanding of the game.

Although his time on the team was brief, his passion for football and enthusiasm for the sport left a lasting impression on the New Mark Middle School community.

Luke Ball’s kind nature and his contribution to the community will always remain in the hearts of his loved ones.

Luke is survived by his parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and the entire family. His family has yet to provide details about his funeral and memorial services.
