A local woman and her family say they experienced an alarming encounter at Spirit Park in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, following a University of Southern Mississippi football game on Saturday, prompting concern among fans and the broader community about safety and behavior at sporting events.
The woman, who goes by Pretty Klacy online, described the incident in a social media post that quickly drew attention.
According to Pretty Klacy, she and her children were leaving the stadium when a man in a grey jacket approached their group and began asking inappropriate, highly offensive questions.

She emphasized that these were his exact words. The woman noted that there were more children than adults in her group at the time, making the encounter particularly shocking.
“There’s a difference between being a fan and being flat-out disrespectful,” Klacy wrote.
“His choice of words wasn’t just inappropriate — it showed a level of behavior that alcohol clearly takes to an even worse place. We came to enjoy a game, make memories with our kids, and head home safely. Nobody should have to deal with that kind of energy, especially in front of children. Do better. Fans, grown folks… people in general — remember that kids are always watching and listening. Let’s set a better example.”
Hattiesburg Community Calls For Accountability After The Recent Spirit Park Incident
The recent Klacy post about the harassment resonated with many social media users and members of the Hattiesburg community, sparking a mix of sympathy, outrage, and calls for accountability.
Gayla Dodd commented:
“Unfortunately in today’s climate anything can happen. I have attended four home games, and they were all wonderful regarding fans on both sides. Hopefully, this will be a lesson for the kids to see what is not appropriate behavior. So sorry that they had to experience this. People need to do better!”
Other fans agreed, with Glenn Riley writing simply, “Disrespectful for sure,” and William Searcy calling the incident “so tacky.”
Concerns about alcohol use at the game were also raised.
Wayne Seitz said, “That’s why you shouldn’t drink alcohol at a game,” while Chad Holland noted:
“Only a sicko would talk to a woman like that. And with kids around, he needs to be locked up.”
Holland also suggested calling law enforcement immediately in such situations to ensure safety.
Some commenters debated whether the man’s behavior indicated a dangerous pattern or was merely a result of intoxication.
One described the individual as “a drunk fool who was running his mouth,” a view echoed by Michelle Freeman Cranford, who expressed doubt that police would pursue someone simply making offensive remarks while drunk.
Others, however, expressed concern about the potential threat to children and the public.
One warned, “A drunk fool that will say that around kids will do much worse. That guy doesn’t have any good intentions.”
While no arrests have been reported at this time, many locals are urging the public to remain alert and report any form of harassment, especially in spaces where children are present.
The community has rallied around the incident, emphasizing the importance of holding individuals accountable and ensuring that such behavior is not tolerated in public settings.
Community members expressed hope that such experiences remain rare but acknowledged that vigilance and accountability are essential to keeping families safe at sporting events.
The encounter at Spirit Park serves as a reminder that fan enthusiasm should never cross the line into harassment or intimidation, and that respect for others must remain a priority, even in the excitement of a football game.
