Michael Stubblefield took to his Facebook to share about a wholesome experience of an unexpected meeting with his late neighbour brother’s daughter at a basketball game.

On January 23, 2026, Michael had gone to a basketball game and rooted for both teams like he always does.

During that game, a little girl from Lakota Middle School caught his attention as she was really putting in that effort and hooping.

Once the game wrapped up, he walked over to tell her she played great, since he knew how much a few kind words can mean to a young player.

However, as he got closer, something happened that clicked in him. The girl’s mother called out his name. Turns out, the girl was his late neighbourhood brother’s daughter who passed away a long time ago.

Michael hadn’t seen the little girl since she was still a baby after her father passed away.

The moment was so surreal and out of nowhere, Michael described the moment, writing, “That moment caught me off guard.

It brought up all kinds of memories and emotions he wasn’t expecting right then on the court.

In his post, Michael talked about missing his brothers so much, especially Big Reem. Reem was the kind of guy who would have understood that feeling instantly.

Whenever something like this happened before, Michael would pick up the phone and call him right away to share it. Seeing Rosie again and feeling that love come around full circle meant everything.

He said Reem always knew what community looked like and how to show up for people the proper way.

Similarly, Michael also gave a shout-out to City Red, too, saying he was locked in with Rosie and her mother, Sandi, for a bit.

He even pointed out that the girl is shaping up to be a serious hooper, carrying on as her uncles, Shawn Henderson and Derek Henderson, used to.

Michael added with a little laugh that her father wasn’t out there playing ball himself, but he did have the height.

Ending the post, Michael wrote:

Moments like this remind me why I show love freely. You never know how much a simple moment can mean.
You’re felt every day, bros. Always. 💔🕊️
Can’t forget you too Mar Mar.. Rest in peace to all the guys. Yall almost had me crying in the car 😂
