Coach Derrick McBride took to his Facebook to share about a boy he tried to discipline years ago, but the mom got mad. Now, the same boy faces felony weapon charges after a fight at Roseville Middle School.
Derrick McBride, a coach from around Warren, shared a post about a juvenile on his Facebook. Turns out the kid who just got charged after that mess at Roseville Middle School used to play for him.
He then went on to reveal that he used to coach the boy and that he once had to get on him straight up for not messing around.
Derrick told the boy that if he messed with the wrong people, somebody was gonna handle him.
Above all, his mother lost her mind over how Derrick talked to her son. He wrote:
Momma was mad at me for telling him he fuck with someone else we gonna handle his ass.
Now, Coach is shaking his head, saying she probably wishes she’d let him put that “bull in the ring” work in instead of fighting him on discipline.
Fast forward to last week: the same kid, still a juvenile, ends up in handcuffs after some kind of fight at Roseville Middle School.
Police reviewed everything and turned it over to Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
His office hit the boy with real charges, which include carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent (that’s a five-year felony), having a weapon in a weapon-free school zone (up to 93 days), and disturbing the peace (up to 90 days).
They had a preliminary hearing on Saturday, November 22, 2026, before Referee Michael Gibbs at the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center.
The prosecutor’s office fought to keep him locked up, but the referee let him go home on a $500 personal bond anyway.
In addition to the bond, the juvenile also has house restrictions, no contact with the school unless permitted, and other standard bond conditions.
Since he actually lives in Wayne County, the whole case is getting shipped over there to be handled in his home county.
Everybody’s still innocent until the court says different, but a lot of folks reading Coach McBride’s post are sitting there thinking the same thing.
Emily Gaston jumped in under Derrick’s post and wrote something, which reads:
Oh no that one kid ?? Damn!😩😩😩I can’t think of his name but the kid from last year
Emily Gaston
Likewise, another added, “That’s how it be bro. Sad to say these mothers be the problem. Blocking mfs from getting in they ass. 😔“
