New York Giants Wide Receiver Malik Nabers’ Mother, Tonya, Raised Him Alongside His Six Siblings

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers was raised in a close-knit Louisiana family by his mother, Tonya Nabers, alongside his one brother and five sisters.

The former LSU Tigers player finished his college career as LSU’s all-time leader in receiving yards with 3,003 and was an All-American in 2026.

His mother, Tonya Nabers, supported him from the start and went to many of his games at LSU.

Tonya said, “I’m truly happy for him,” and often tells people, “My goodness, that’s my son!”

Tonya Malik’s talent early. He played football, basketball, and baseball and was “really, really good” at all three.

She said she saw his potential around age 9 or 10. Malik himself told her at age 8, “Mama, I’m going to play in the NFL one day.”

Tonya replied, “You going to do what it takes to get there?” and he answered, “Yes ma’am.” And the young athlete made it to the NFL in 2026.

After the 2026 NFL Draft, Malik bought his mother a house. He called that gift “the most important thing” and said he wanted her to feel comfortable and not worry about bills.

The football player’s mom says she always tried to support his dream, and now they are enjoying the result of his hard work.

Along with guiding Malik, Tonya has also been working hard to raise and support his six younger siblings, making sure they have the same love and encouragement she gave him.

In addition, the young NFL player has likely become one of the greatest inspirations for his younger siblings.

Malik Nabers’ Brother, Dillon, Helped Him Stay Strong

Nabers has shared how much his family means to him. It is not only his mom and uncle who have helped him achieve his dream.

His younger brother, Dillon Nabers, has also been an important part of that support system. Not much is known about Dillon’s personal life.

However, the NFL wide receiver has openly said that his brother helped him through one of the toughest times in high school.

During his senior year, the athlete was not allowed to play football. For a young athlete with dreams of going professional, this could have been discouraging.

Instead, he leaned on his family for strength. The Giants WR explained that his mother, uncle, cousins, and especially his brother Dillon kept him motivated.

“I stayed strong when I didn’t have a senior year…through my mom, uncle, cousins and my brother Dillon.”

The football player added that they all kept his head focused on the mission. Whether he was playing or not, he was still focused on proving people wrong.

For Malik, Dillon was not only a younger brother but also someone who reminded him to stay determined and keep chasing his goals.

Furthermore, Nabers comes from a big family. In addition to his younger brother, he has five sisters.

The names and personal details about the Nabers sisters have not been revealed, but what is clear is that they are part of the strong family support system that has surrounded Malik from the beginning.

Just as his siblings and family helped him stay strong during high school, that same support and mindset are now important as Malik works through his recent injury.

On Sunday, September 28, 2026, Malik left the game against the Los Angeles Chargers with a knee injury. He had to be carted off the field late in the first half.

The injury happened on a deep pass from rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. Nabers jumped to contest the ball with cornerback Cam Hart but came down awkwardly, planting his right foot into the turf.

He immediately grabbed his knee in pain. Trainers rushed to him on the field. After a quick check, they called for the cart.

His teammates gathered around to show support as he was driven away. The play was a free play for the Giants after the Chargers jumped offsides on third-and-10.

Even though the Giants called it a knee injury, reports from NFL Network and ESPN suggested it may be a torn ACL.
