After 11 years of coaching, Diego felt defeated only because of the love that he had for the kids.

He was a familiar and dedicated figure on the sidelines for 11 seasons, committing to teaching young athletes more than just the game.

His long tenure allowed him to shape the lives of countless young players in the community. Although his focus was on the fundamentals of football, his lessons often extended far beyond the field.

He emphasized the importance of teamwork, discipline, and giving your best effort, whether you won or lost. His 11 years of service represent a deep commitment to Rock Island’s youth.

Youth Football Program Dismisses Longtime Coach Over Anonymous Complaint

A local youth football program is facing criticism after dismissing a dedicated volunteer coach of 11 years based on an anonymous accusation.

Skip Diego announced his dismissal in an emotional Facebook post, alleging that the decision was made due to a complaint from an anonymous parent whose child does not even play on his team.

According to Diego’s Facebook post, the complaint reportedly focused on his past felony record.

He states the league was already fully aware of his history, as he had passed their official background check. He believes he was unfairly singled out.

Diego states that the Rock Island Youth Football program made an unfair decision to take it all away from him over an anonymous parent on a team he didn’t even coach.

He expressed feeling defeated by the decision, stating his primary concern was for the children he now has to leave. He addressed his coaching as a mission to give back to the community.

His goal was to use his past mistakes as a lesson to steer kids away from street life and gangs, and toward focusing on schoolwork and sports.

Seeing them kids cry and hug me tight was one of the hardest things to ever do. That hurt fr. This shit is so unfair, man.

Furthermore, Diego made a serious allegation, claiming the same program allowed sex offenders to coach at the 9th grade last year.

His situation has sparked a conversation about second chances and the value of dedicated volunteers against the weight of anonymous complaints.

Sadly, Diego ended his post stating that His update has garnered wide attention, and many supported him.

Your background was cleared 11 years ago. Get it in writing why they terminated your coaching status. Then file an appeal. It would really benefit you if you still have the acceptance email/letter.

The Rock Island/Milan Youth Football program has not publicly commented on the decision and Diego’s allegations.
