After a year defined by discipline, consistency, and community support, a Scranton native named Anthony has transformed his life—both physically and mentally.

Through his commitment to CrossFit Vertex, Anthony lost more than 100 pounds and set himself on a new professional path as he prepares to begin physical therapy school this September.

Anthony followed the CrossFit prescription that emphasizes balanced nutrition and sustainable habits: eating meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar—while keeping intake aligned with exercise rather than excess.

Under the CrossFit Vertex Nutrition Program, guided by Coach Deb, Anthony trusted the process and avoided shortcuts or extreme measures.

Over the past 12 months, Anthony attended more than 200 CrossFit classes, most of them at 6 a.m., with additional evening sessions mixed in. His consistency paid off.

He reduced his weight from 353 pounds to 229 pounds through slow, steady, and intentional effort.

Along the way, he leaned on the coaching and encouragement of Deb, Mark, Makenna, Kaleena, and Joe, while also trusting himself enough to keep showing up day after day.

The transformation extended far beyond the scale. Anthony reshaped his outlook on life and emerged as a confident, driven, and ambitious young man.

His passion for health and movement now fuels his career goals.

This fall, he will begin Physical Therapy school, already gaining hands-on experience as a Physical Therapist Aide at Impact Physio in Clarks Summit, where he works under John Salva.

Anthony’s journey has inspired an outpouring of support from the CrossFit Vertex community, with members praising his work ethic, strength, and perseverance.

For Anthony, the message remains simple—and enduring: keep showing up.
