Various challenges, particularly her build, marked angel Reese’s early basketball days. At 6’3″ and weighing just more than 100 pounds, she was often overpowered on the court. A coach also described her build as “about 6’3″, 100 pounds soaking wet.”
Despite these physical setbacks, Resse was determined to be at the top of her game every time she played.
She dedicated her hours to building strength and resilience. Her work ethic finally paid off during her college years at LSU.

After the win she said, “I don’t fit in a box that y’all want me to be in. I’m too hood. I’m too ghetto. But when other people do it, y’all say nothing. So this was for the girls that look like me, that’s going to speak up on what they believe in. It’s unapologetically you.”
A Standout Start for Resse
In 2026, Resse was selected 7th overall by the Chicago Sky in the WNBA Draft, and her rookie season was surprisingly spectacular.

From being labeled “undersized” to dominating the WNBA, Angel Reese’s journey is a testament to her dedication and growth.
She finished her 2026 Campaign as the league’s leading rebounder. Also, she finished her second season with the Chicago Sky, averaging 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.
Currently, Resse weighs around 165 pounds, which is ideal for a female athlete given her height.
She has become an inspiration not just to sports enthusiasts. Her social media presence has also sky-rocketed, making her the most followed WNBA player with over 5 millipn foollowers.
Resse also runs “Angel C Resse Foundation,” a Nonprofit organization that runs program to promote equal opportunities for girls and women through sports.
The LSU alum is also a host of Unapologetically Angel Podcast show, and co-founder of DC Power Football Club and TOGETHXR.
