On Saturday, Nov. 23, a three-vehicle crash north of Spokane on U.S. Highway 395 left two teenagers injured, including 17-year-old Brody ThreeStars, who sustained serious head injuries.
Authorities say a suspected intoxicated driver, Matthew Hall, 45, of Deer Park, caused the collision while attempting to flee the scene.
The crash around 6:40 p.m. Hall was driving a 1998 Honda Accord north on Highway 395, about nine miles from Spokane.
Behind him, 26-year-old Brooke Goins was driving a 2004 Dodge Ram with 26-year-old Abigail Goins and an 18-month-old child as passengers.
Near the right turn for West Russell Lane, a 2017 Subaru Legacy, driven by 17-year-old Zachary Wolverton with Brody ThreeStars as the passenger, waited at a stop sign.
Hall lost control of his vehicle, drove through a ditch, and struck the Subaru.
The impact pushed the Subaru into the Goins’ pickup, sending all three vehicles into the northbound ditch.
Both teenagers in the Subaru were injured and transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center.
Hall attempted to flee on foot but was later apprehended and taken to Deaconess North.
Charges for suspected DUI are still pending. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
Brody ThreeStars is known for his vibrant personality, loyalty, and fierce competitiveness on and off the field.
He is described by family and friends as a loving son, brother, nephew, teammate, and grandson.
Following the accident, Brody was placed in a medically induced coma due to serious head injuries, but remains stable under the care of a dedicated medical team.
The teen faces a long road to recovery, and his family has expressed immense gratitude for the outpouring of support, prayers, and encouragement from the community.
They are also seeking assistance to cover medical expenses and ongoing care, emphasizing that every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference.
Brody ThreeStars’ family and friends ask that he continue to be kept in thoughts and prayers as he fights through this challenging time.
