Former KOLO sports director and Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame inductee Bryan Samudio passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday at the age of 52, leaving his wife devastated.

His sudden death left the northern Nevada community grieving the loss of a trusted journalist and beloved figure in local sports.

While fans, colleagues, and athletes remember Samudio for his decades-long career, his wife, Jenn Donald, is now facing the heartbreaking reality of life without him.

Jenn Donald, who spent 20 years with Samudio, shared an emotional message following his passing.

She her husband as “a joy and light to this world” and expressed deep gratitude for the years they shared together.

Her words reflected not only her love but also the admiration and respect she held for him as a husband, partner, and friend.

I truly never imagined having to say the words,” Donald wrote.

“But today I have to share the unexpected passing of my amazing husband, Bryan Samudio. He was truly a joy and light to this world and will be so dearly missed. I am so thankful for every moment we shared in our 20 years together and will love him forever.”

In the wake of her tribute, Donald has been surrounded by an outpouring of support from friends, family, and the community.

Messages of condolences flooded social media, with people offering prayers, meals, and comfort during this devastating time.

Many expressed admiration for Samudio’s professional achievements while also recognizing the love and partnership he shared with his wife.

Neighbors, colleagues, and friends noted that Donald’s strength in writing about her husband’s death was a testament to the deep bond they shared.

Samudio’s career spanned more than two decades, during which he covered Nevada Wolf Pack athletics, the San Francisco Giants’ championship runs, NFL games, and even the world land speed record attempt in Black Rock Desert.

His legacy as a journalist, mentor, and storyteller continues to live on.

For Donald, that legacy is also deeply personal. She stood by Samudio throughout his career, celebrating his achievements and supporting him through transitions—from KOLO and KRNV to his later role as a public information officer for the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.

As Jenn Donald grieves, she continues to hold onto the memories of the life they built together.

Her words reflect the pain of loss but also the enduring love she will carry forward.

Just as the Nevada community remembers Samudio’s contributions to sports journalism, his wife will ensure that his memory lives on through the personal love story they shared.
