NFL running back Mar’Keise “Bucky” Irving was born to parents Marcellus Irving and LaTisha Irving and has two siblings, Lakeisha and Keishawn Irving.

It was Bucky’s father, Marcellus, who gave him the nickname “Bucky” because of his wide eyes as a baby.

Sadly, Marcellus passed away when Bucky was just two years old. After his father’s death, LaTisha raised Bucky and his siblings on her own.

When Bucky was five, she bought him his first football and signed him up for a team. As a single mother, she worked hard to provide for her children.

LaTisha had Bucky and his siblings back at all times.

Bucky’s brother, Keishawn, was born on November 21, 2003. On his 21st birthday, his mother LaTisha took to her Facebook to write him a birthday wish, which reads:

Wishing my baby boy a happy 21st birthday! 🥳 🎉 I love you and pray God’s guidance and protection surround you always! Wishing you many more years of blessings and growth!

His sister, Lakeisha, attended Thornwood High School, and according to her , is in a relationship.

Unlike Bucky, his two siblings, sister Lakeisha Irving and brother Keishawn Irving, remain out of the media spotlight.

Bucky Irving’s Half-Brother Was Shot at 16!

Apart from Lakeisha and Keishawn, Bucky also had a younger half-brother named Jordan Raybon; however, he is no longer alive.

Jordan tragically passed away after being at the age of 16. The NFL player was a freshman at the University of Minnesota during this time.

Despite this tragedy, Bucky has been vocal about carrying the memory of his brother with him and has used it as motivation to succeed in football and life.

He has mentioned that his loved ones, including his late brother, are “smiling down” on him and giving him strength.

In Case You Didn’t Know

  • In 2026, Bucky rushed for 1,122 yards, the first Bucs rookie to hit 1,000 since 2012. He averaged 5.4 yards per carry, third-best for a rookie in NFL history.
  • In the 2026 season opener, Bucky scored his first NFL touchdown on a pass from Baker Mayfield against the Atlanta Falcons.
