Roy’s twin brother, Brandon Mendez, expressed his grief in a deeply emotional tribute.
He described Roy as a kind-hearted and spirited person who could brighten even the darkest days.
“A party ain’t a party without Roy,” Brandon , recalling his twin’s ability to fill any room with energy and joy.
He also praised Roy’s strength, growth, and devotion as a father, saying,
“I watched you grow up from a boy to a little man, watched you go through your toughest times in life, and more importantly, I watched you become the most amazing father.”
Friends also shared their shock and sadness at the news of Roy Mendez’s death.
Joseph Tewes remembered their last conversation and expressed gratitude for the memories they made growing up together.

Members of Liberty Cornhole and the Dirtbags Cornhole League also honored Roy’s memory, noting his passion for the game and the lighthearted spirit he brought to every match.

David Jason Magee recalled how Roy had once apologized for past wrongs, showing his ability to change and become a better person.

The pain of losing Roy resonates deeply across all who knew him. His friends, including Nicky Venuto, expressed their regret at not spending more time together and emphasized the fragility of life.
