Following the firing and arrest of Sherrone Moore, Michigan is exploring options for its next head coach.

Michigan began , and Monken’s name surfaced prominently because of his championship success at Georgia and his current role leading the Baltimore Ravens’ offense.

Todd Monken’s wife is Terri Monken, and the couple has been married for more than 35 years.

Terri, born in Addison, Illinois, in 1958, met Todd in an unusual way, at a funeral, in the mid- 1980s, and their relationship grew into a long-lasting partnership.

After dating for around six years, the couple tied the knot in 1991.

Terri grew up in Illinois with a lifelong passion for sports and fitness.

One of her biggest dreams was to run the New York City Marathon. Although the opportunity didn’t come earlier in life, she finally achieved it in 2026 when she joined the 50th anniversary race.

Terri used the event not just to fulfill a personal goal but also to support a cause close to her heart, partnering with the Melanoma Education Foundation and raising $2,500 in donations.

Before marrying Todd, Terri worked as a health insurance plan administrator in her hometown.

After their marriage, she embraced the constant relocations that come with a coaching career, often moving from city to city alongside Todd.

She has described the frequent relocations required by coaching as “phenomenal,” embracing the lifestyle that comes with being married to a football.

While she isn’t a public figure professionally, Terri has been an active presence in Todd’s football journey, sometimes offering her perspective on play-calling and fully supporting the challenges of life in sports.

Together, Todd and Terri have built a family, and together they have one son, , who has followed in his father’s footsteps as a football coach.

Currently, he is serving as an Offensive Analyst working with the running backs at Purdue.

Before arriving at Purdue, he was a student assistant at Oklahoma State, where he worked with tight ends and fullbacks

Growing up, Travis shared a special bond with Todd, spending Wednesday nights watching The Simpsons together and constantly talking about football, which nurtured his passion for the game from an early age.

He attended Oklahoma State University, where he began his coaching journey as a student football assistant, gaining hands-on experience in the sport.

His dedication and enthusiasm for football earned him a promotion to offensive student assistant (SA), and he has already worked alongside his father during the Ravens’ OTAs minicamp.

Being the couple’s only child, Travis is often described as the “favorite,” and his career path reflects both his admiration for his father and his own commitment to coaching.

Just like Todd, Travis is deeply enthusiastic about the sport, carving out his own identity in football while carrying forward the Monken family’s coaching legacy.

This fits into the broader Monken family tradition: football coaching spans three generations and 13 different coaches in the family.

Todd’s father, Bob Monken, was a longtime high school coach in Illinois, and several of Todd’s uncles and cousins also became coaches.

Travis continuing in this path underscores that football truly is the family business.
