A Whitehall Township mother has shared claims on social media describing a troubling encounter at Coverbridge Park in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, saying a family outing with her children escalated into a heated confrontation with another adult.
In a she alleged that a child at the park spat on her children and on playground equipment, prompting her to approach the situation and speak with the child and later the father.
She said she calmly asked for the behavior to be addressed, but the interaction escalated into accusations, arguments, and claims that she did not belong at the park.
Dispute at Coverbridge Park Escalates During Family Outing
According to the mother’s account, the situation started when she noticed a child spitting on her children and on a slide before her son used it.
She stated she first spoke directly to the child and then asked where the child’s parent was, after which the child indicated his father was nearby.
She claims she then to intervene and speak with his son about the behavior.
In her post, she alleged the father denied the incident occurred and was not actively supervising the child at the time, saying he was way fishing within the park.
She further claimed the exchange became tense when the father accused her of wrongdoing and threatened to call law enforcement.
She also stated that he attempted to take a photo of her vehicle’s license plate, which led her to stand in front of it while holding her phone to record the interaction.
The mother wrote that the situation escalated further, with statements directed at her suggesting she did not belong in the park.

Mike Hanlon You can tell by the expression on his face that he is irate that this woman DARED to politely request that he control his son. Hate breeds hate, and apparently it’s a learned behavior. I am appalled and disgusted by this entire situation.
