A misunderstanding over open bowling fees has caused frustration for a local bowler and aspiring coach.

Cruz Gabby, who is working toward becoming a USBC Level 1 youth coach, alleges Classic Lanes recently accused her in Greenfield of intentionally walking out on a bill.

According to Gabby, the situation stemmed from an employee’s unclear instructions four weeks prior.

In a detailed Facebook post, she explained that after a league night, she asked an employee about open bowling. She was told the alley wasn’t officially open, but she could bowl for about an hour.

When she asked the cost for herself and a friend, she says the employee told her, “You’re good.“

Taking the employee at his word, Gabby and her friend bowled and left. She even returned minutes later to retrieve a forgotten phone, and no one mentioned any charge.

The issue only arose weeks later when, she says, she was approached and treated as if she had purposely skipped out on the payment.

Gabby, who is active in the bowling community, emphasized that she always intends to pay her fees and found the accusation “offensive and disrespectful.”

Her post drew widespread attention, and netizens suggested that the employee who granted her permission to bowl should apologize to her and her guest.
