Worcester and East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, communities are mournig the untimely death of beloved native and former athlete, Jack Harold Forsyth.

Jack Forsyth passed away on December 13, 2026, at the age of 20; however, his family hasn’t yet disclosed the details surrounding his untimely death.

Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on December 30, 2004, as the only son of Sean M. and Maura E. (Beek) Forsyth, Jack Forsyth was a cherished member of the East Longmeadow sports community and touched the lives of many with his amazing athletic skills and kind nature.

Jack graduated summa cum laude from East Longmeadow High School in 2026.

While at High School, won the hearts of many, excelling in multiple sports. He was a member of the varsity hockey and lacrosse teams and led his team in several victories throughout his tenure.

Wearing jersey #20 on the ice, Jack contributed to the team’s efforts during his high school career, recording two career assists, including one in a 3-2 win over Amherst in February 2026.

Additionally, Jack was a member of the National Honor Society at East Longmeadow High School.

Although Jack Forsyth didn’t pursue his athletic journey professionally, he was aiming to thrive in his engineering career.

Jack Worcester Polytechnic Institute on an Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps scholarship, studying aerospace engineering, and was set to graduate in 2027.

He was also a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and was an intern at True Robotics Inc.

While Sean Forsyth hasn’t released any statement regarding the untimely death of his only son, he often shares pictures of Jack on social media, expressing his love and pride.

In addition to his father, Jack Forsyth is survived by his paternal grandmother, Loretta Forsyth of Springfield, MA, his uncles Stephen J. Beek (Tiffany), Joseph E. Beek (Barbara), Carl J. Forsyth (Doreen), and his aunt Kara Venne (Ronald).

Jack is also survived by his numerous cousins and loved ones.

Jack Forsyth is preceded by his mother, Maura (Beek) Forsyth, grandmother, Margaret Beek, his maternal grandfather, Harold F. Beek, and paternal grandfather, John C. Forsyth.

Jack’s mother, Maura Elizabeth Forsyth, passed away on December 22, 2026, at Massachusetts General Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 53 years old.

Maura worked as a registered nurse for 30 years at Mercy Hospital, Baystate Medical Center, and the Pioneer Valley Surgical Center.

Furthermore, Jack Forsyth’s family has organized a for him on Friday, December 19, 2026, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Sampson Chapel of the Acres funeral home, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield, MA 01129.

Friends are invited to meet at St. Michael’s Parish, 128 Maple St., East Longmeadow, MA 01028, on Saturday, December 20, at 9:30 AM for the funeral mass.

Burial will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701, or NAMI Western Massachusetts, 1221 Main St #100, Holyoke, MA 01040.

Jack Forsyth’s remarkable contribution to the community and his kind nature will always remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and loved ones.
