Collin Gray hates Crocs mainly because of his rough experience wearing them while playing basketball in Taylor County jail.
In his post, he reveals his dislike for Crocs, especially after seeing his little brother wearing white ones at their dad’s grave.
After seeing that photo, his nostalgic feelings about Orange crocs came rushing back.
“Playing Basketball Wearing Crocs is not Only Difficult, But also Dangerous,” Said Collin Gray
is a young man from Texas who spent three months in Taylor County Jail in Abilene when he was 19 years old.
He had been hustling before his arrest and had saved some money, plus received help from his mom.
While in jail, he started saving up stamps, hoping to trade them for cash and buy drugs once he got out.
During his time in jail, Collin had to wear orange Crocs, which were uncomfortable and unsafe, especially for playing basketball.
He said the Crocs had no ankle support, made his feet sweat, and eventually started to stink, with the smell soaking into the rubber-like material.
Further, he explained that it was dangerous since he played hard and could jump high.
At one point, he even faked a seizure to try to get out of the situation. However, the jail staff saw through it and warned him that his parents would be charged for the ambulance.
He finally got a pair of Crocs with straps just days before bonding out.
His post got strong impressions from those closest to him. They found it hilarious, but at the same time, it was the absurd reality of jail life.
One Facebook user named commented with laughter, saying:
You are killing me Collin!!!!!!
I would say you are FAR better off where you are in life right now!!!!! And you NEVER have to wear crocks again, if you don’t want too!!!! lol
Similarly, Collin replied, saying:
I would rather choke on umbilical cord and die at Birth then wear a pair of crocs again. I’d rather spend all winter in these mountains Barefoot and end up with feet like Mr Deeds then wear a pair of Crocs again.
After being released from jail, he started his own business, Square Bid Contracting.
Later, Collin Gray started working as a carpenter and laborer for Gerber Custom Homes.
He went from wearing orange Crocs in jail to building homes and running his own company.
