Bronx Rapper Waldi Williams, best known as WowdyHB, has been allegedly arrested for being a part of the Bronx Shooting that occurred at a basketball tournament on August 23, 2026.
On Saturday evening, August 23, 2026, a community tournament at Haffen Park turned into a nightmare when gunfire broke out, killing one man and injuring four others.
According to an , one of the individuals in custody is a local rapper who goes by the stage name WowdyHB. However, the news lacks proof.
The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. near Burke and Wickham Avenues, right in the middle of a packed crowd watching the basketball game.
Everyone was present, just there to enjoy the day and maybe cheer on some teams. However, they had never imagined that the event would turn into a nightmare.
People were just enjoying the vibe when nearly 50 shots rang out, according to cops.
The victim who didn’t make it was 32-year-old Jaceil Banks, who was hit in the chest. He was rushed to the hospital but passed away from his wounds.
Then there’s 17-year-old Anthonaya Campbell, a teen girl who got shot in the head while chilling on a bench with her friends. Now, she is in critical condition, fighting for her life.
Likewise, three others, two guys ages 30 and 42, and a 29-year-old woman, also caught bullets and ended up in the ER. However, they’re expected to recover.
Police moved quickly on this one. By Sunday morning, they had four people in custody and had picked up six guns from the scene.
Two of the are a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy who are on the same boat. Both of them are facing charges like attempted murder, gang assault, and weapons possession.
Meanwhile, their names haven’t been released since they’re minors.
Then there are two others: a 20-year-old Daeven Reyes, hit with the same serious counts, and a 25-year-old Robert Royal, charged with attempted murder and gun crimes.
But the name getting the most attention is WowdyHB, a rising drill rapper from the Bronx.
According to the post, cops say he was one of the shooters, allegedly firing into the crowd as part of what looks like a gang beef.
However, the reports only confirm those four arrests, and while two names (Reyes and Royal) are known, the identities of the other two are unidentified. So, it’s unclear if WowdyHB is one of them or not.
